The 3M™ PELTOR™ SwatTac™ VI NIB Headset MT20H682FB-19N SV is a dual-frequency tactical communication headset engineered for U.S. Federal Government personnel requiring international operational capability. Designed specifically for law enforcement and military operators, this black headset operates on both 915.5 MHz (North America, Australia, New Zealand) and 864 MHz (Europe) frequency bands — making it the required configuration for FedGov users conducting or supporting operations outside of the United States. The headset is sold exclusively to U.S. Federal Government end users. It ships in black with a foldable headband with included ARC rail attachment system, dual downlead configuration for simultaneous connection to two radio systems, standard dynamic microphone, MI input, and NATO wiring.

The SwatTac VI NIB platform delivers a fundamental advancement over previous PELTOR generations through three integrated technologies. Natural Interaction Behavior (NIB) wireless enables headset-to-headset communication within a 5-meter radius without an external radio — up to 4 team members can transmit simultaneously while over 60 additional operators can listen. Audio transmission is controlled via advanced VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation, or via PTT button, with a dedicated tactile button on the left ear cup to toggle between VOX and PTT modes. Mission Audio Profiles (MAP) provide five distinct environmental listening modes that shape both amplitude and frequency response for specific operational conditions — enabling operators to optimize auditory situational awareness for indoor CQB, outdoor patrol, vehicle operations, earplug mode, and high-noise environments. The IP68-rated omni-directional noise-cancelling microphone ensures clear speech transmission in rain, dust, submersion, and other harsh field conditions.

Hearing protection performance is provided through level-dependent electronic attenuation, which compresses impulse and steady-state noise above threshold while amplifying ambient sounds below the harmful range — maintaining auditory situational awareness without removing the headset. The headset delivers an NRR of 20–23 dB depending on configuration, meeting DA PAM 40-501 Army Hearing Conservation Program 2015 single hearing protection requirements. Electromagnetic interference compliance is tested to MIL-STD-461G and MIL-STD-464 standards, qualifying the headset for use within complex electronic environments including vehicle-mounted platforms and aircraft. The foldable headband with integral ARC mounts enables rapid transition between headband wear and helmet rail mounting, supporting seamless integration with MICH, FAST, and similar tactical helmet systems.

The dual downlead (dual comm) configuration allows simultaneous connection to two independent radio networks, with the electronic design engineered to prevent radio crosstalk. The telescoping boom microphone is ambidextrous — deployable left or right without relocating hardware. Power is supplied by two AAA batteries, providing approximately 50 hours of operation without NIB and 30 hours with NIB active. The tool-free watertight battery compartment cover enables field battery changes without additional equipment. The SwatTac VI designation (vs. ComTac VI) indicates the black tactical finish, positioning the headset for law enforcement SWAT, special operations, corrections tactical units, and federal agents operating in low-profile or tactical environments.
